Altuzarra -Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2014/2015 Show in New York (with itw)

In the Tribeca neighbourhood of South Manhattan, Joseph Altuzarra invites us into his world, a world that he hopes is without reference, without a specific story for next season. The silhouette is pure, sensual and enveloping. The choice of coats, sailor jackets and blazers is never-ending. Dresses possess the designer’s trademark slit, even his necklines and especially his plays with materials and this time, colours. Dashes of red, purple and orange illuminate the waist or back. Tapestry-like effects handmade in wool are bonded to the bust. It is all in the detail: a contrasting lining, loose material, a brief glimpse of the body…With the sun setting over Manhattan, the collection assumes a certain magical, luxurious softness…Interview:Joseph Altuzarra :In previous years, there has been a very sentimental side to the collections in the sense that I really wanted to design clothes in which women would have felt beautiful or comfortable and there is a simplicity, a very easy side which really appealed to me when I worked on the collection and on each of the elements, even on the furs which are rather complicated and are created in a patchwork, as fur really is very easy to wear, there are three fastening hooks and it is enveloping.I wanted this collection to have no references. I wanted it to be about new volumes and colours but also things that a woman wants to wear or at least that I hope a woman wants to wear and in which women can feel beautiful and sexy and attractive.
