Topshop Unique- Fashion show- WOMEN'S collection Autumn-Winter 2016/17 in London (with interview)

Designer: Kate Phelan, artistic director of Topshop UniqueLocation: Tate BritainInspiration: British girls. They are cool, rock'n'roll, not afraid of anything, steel male clothing such as the big coats with a great mixture of sensuality exacerbatedFocus: leather jackets, skins are back, pea coats and khaki coats, fur jackets, on light dresses with floral prints, pink lace, loose trousersNote: the velvet dresses at the end of the show with printed landscapesInterview from Kate Phelan:I think it is always really important for Topshop to play in that ‘masculine/ feminine world’ because when people ask, “what is British Style?” Top shop encompasses that world. It really is drawing your inspiration from masculine tailoring, great big masculine coats or it’s a sequin mini dress, or it’s a velvet romantic vintage dress. So it is about having that melting pot.We don’t just focus on one thing anymore, we want everyone to enjoy Topshop as a playground; somewhere you can develop and have fun with your style. We want to celebrate fashion. She dares to be sensual, she dares to be rock n roll, and she dares it all. She is our modern woman this is the modern girl today.Showing in a space like this is such a lovely contrast to the collection, this is a heritage landmark building of London, so we are very excited to be showing here.
