Trend : The wedding dress, true source of inspiration and expression

It is a real tradition that we attribute to Christian Dior in the 40s. Always very anticipated, the wedding dress closes the Haute Couture shows usually in a spectacular way. Star of the show for some or a more discrete appearance for others, the wedding dress is a safe bet just as much as it is symbolic and commercial. We see more and more on the ready to wear catwalk where, for next summer, the designers put on an ethereal romanticism with tulle and lace or on a bride with a sexy side. The wedding trends are confirmed during the the Bridal Weeks of Barcelona and especially New York. Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang or Jenny Packham, famous for their celebrity wedding dresses, bring a tone with a lot of tulle, lace and organza with floral embroidery, very romantic, but also plunging necklines, off the shoulder, bodices and even a silk masculine/feminine pantsuit at Carolina Herrera. It’s also in New York that the duo Viktor & Rolf presented their first “Mariage” collection with this same unexpected elegance which characterizes it. The opulent embroidery on the long lace dresses alongside the big signature bows and the trouser bustier. A capsule collection which testifies to the two designers’ fascination for the wedding dress.Animated by the same passion, Elie Saab changes course with Elie Saab Bridal, a line which takes over the codes of the house, but not only that, the Lebanese designer equally plays with bohemian lace, trousers and the bare back. Far from the catwalk and the big couture names, small brands are also multiplying capsule collections and specialized salons flourish, proof, if necessary, that the wedding dress is a source of inspiration and expression, but also a market to conquer.(Music free : Bandit & Nikit)
