Designer: Walter Van BeirendonckInspiration: Colour is at the heart of this collection with a critical but fun, worrying but benevolent view of the world.Collection: Patchwork of colours and materials using new fabrics for big enveloping coats and revisited jumpsuits that counterbalance Lycra outfits as well as various propositions of Bermuda’s and shorts that are in line with the current sportswear trend. Everything is worn with moonboots or hilarious sock-like trainers.Let’s not forget about the jackets and parkas with straps where you can hold blankets, clothes and cushions…Note: the fun and well thought out makeup and hairstyles!Interview with Walter Van Beirendonck:I don’t think we should share our problems using only the colour black, I also think we can use colours and deconstructed fabrics to show the problems of the world, so above all this is what I try to show in my collection.I love tailoring and truly working with cuts and patterns, but at the same time, I also love t-shirts and prints and from the start of my collections, I have always combined everything. It is really something that I love. For me, contrasts are very important, both in my collections as well as in the fabrics. For me, making clothes that are wearable and sellable is very important, but how you present them shows an exaggerated version of them, however, they are really meant to be worn.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
